Bridges of Dignity

“Bridges of Dignity” aims to ensure that youth and adolescents from the forgotten neighbourhoods of East Amman and Tafilah have accessible pathways towards work or higher education and have easier and better access to professional networks and social capital related to the labour market.
The project provides 90 adolescents with a highly participative, intense and 24-month-long innovation and design thinking as well as soft skills training programme. On the other hand, 66 youth participate in a 12-month long creative soft and technical skills development programme, in business skills training, and in one-on-one professional mentoring. Moreover, half of the youth have the opportunity to complete internships and thus gain practical work experience.
As a result, adolescents and youth are expected to have access to and successfully pursue continuing education opportunities or employment opportunities.
For nearly two decades, Ruwwad Al-Tanmeya has been working extensively with this target group through volunteer programmes. More recently, the organisations had the opportunity to set up a fully functioning digital fabrication lab, which is accessible to the target group.
Apart from implementing the new activities, the project supports developing Ruwwad Al-Tanmeya’s organisational capacity by enabling the creation of a MEAL unit for stronger evidence-based programming of the organsiation.
