Youth in action

By supporting the professional and creative development of young people aged 16-25 and children aged 6-15, the project is making a contribution towards the wellbeing and education of children and youth in El Hadaba El Wosta, Ezbet El Nasr and Kafr Hamza, three marginalised areas that suffer from poverty and limited services. A lack of alternatives means children often spend time on the streets, which exposes them to risks such as drugs and bullying.
The project aims to equip children with skills and tools that can develop their self-confidence and improve their living conditions. It improves young people’s leadership skills, so that they can participate effectively in the development of their communities. Finally, the project is investing in income generation by offering fee-based art courses, renting out the organisation’s premises for conferences, and utilising the partner organisation’s specific experience and expertise to use arts and culture to contribute towards social development in Egypt.
