Youth Empowerment through Live Action Role Playing

The project addresses young people’s low participation levels in the local community by promoting good and active citizenship and by providing a space for young people to learn and develop on a personal and professional level. This is accomplished through Live Action Role Playing and board games. Live Action Role Playing is a participatory tool to tell stories and present different subjects while giving everyone a chance to be any character in a fictional world. The project believes it is possible to use this methodology as an interactive tool to encourage dialogue and learning by providing an appropriate environment for all participants to develop their communication, discussion and decision-making skills. The project targets three main objectives: to improve Bait Byout’s organisational capacity and governance, to empower 30 young volunteers with the skills to become good and active citizens and to support 150 university teaching students and 9 teachers with new skills and knowledge through Live Action Role Playing and board games.
