The programme «Zeig, was Du kannst!» («Show, what you can do!») supports 40 disadvantaged students from Leipzig and the surrounding area on their way to a vocational qualification. Half of the scholarship places are to be awarded to care leavers. The partner relies on the cooperation with local business associations and the Schule-Wirtschaft (School-Business) network. The systematic management of the transition process from school to training begins in the last two years of school and lasts for a further year after the start of an apprenticeship. The core elements consist of semi-annual training measures, in addition to group coaching and mentoring. Participants are thus able to receive tailor-made support from qualified specialists for three years. The funding elements are sustainably implemented in Leipzig and lead to a continuation of the programme by regional agencies.
