Promoting the platform «Brückensteine Careleaver»

Young people who grow up in children’s homes or foster families are facing ever-greater challenges as they transition to independent living (usually between the ages of 18 and 21). These so-called care leavers lack adequate support, for example, in the areas of housing, finance, education, work and social life. By merging several projects, the initiative is testing and implementing a variety of approaches and offers of assistance. The care leavers themselves are at the forefront and are actively involved in the development. The initiative ensures all project activities have a collective impact, promotes communication between partners through joint activities (networks, social media, conferences, etc.) and breathes new life into the currently prevailing care system of youth welfare.
