Promoting the local food system

cIn collaboration with the American University of Beirut, this project seeks to enhance the legumes value chain by assisting small-scale farmers and agri-businesses in North and South Lebanon to improve their knowledge of circular economy, sustainable production, business development, and gender issues. Furthermore, the project provides job opportunities and improves the capacities of 10 production entities involved in the legumes value chain by offering coaching, legal assistance, quality control, and marketing services. Agri-food research and evidence will be collected, used and shared, reinforcing proper documentation, knowledge generation and sharing for better partnerships and synergies, and to enhance scaling-up.

This project is part of DROSOS FOUNDATION’s effort to strengthen the agribusiness sector and its youth employment opportunities in Lebanon, also addressing the country’s food shortages and dependence on food imports.
