Golden Crops

Golden Crops strengthens the economic empowerment of small-scale farmers and workers in the Beqaa region and contributes to the consolidation of the Lebanese agri-food systems. The project supports the agricultural production of strategic crops (grains and pulses), and trains 600 farmers in modern agriculture and business practices, making available to them modern machinery and stimulating coordination among farmers, cooperatives and government institutions. As a result, at least 480 farmers will have enhanced their profitability with the reduction of production costs and increased yield and marketability. The use of smart technology, introduced by the project, will attract youth and retain talent in the country as well as contribute to addressing food shortages.

This project is part of DROSOS FOUNDATION’s effort to strengthen the agribusiness sector and its youth employment opportunities in Lebanon.
