Funding programme: Regional Start-up Initiatives East Germany

«The funding programme helps to secure a start-up culture in East Germany that engages in activities to benefit the community, environment and sustainability.» To honour this vision, the programme’s partners are setting up local start-up initiatives in several locations with a Collective Impact approach. The core of each initiative is a start-up lab supplemented by various complementary activities around the topic of entrepreneurship.

These local initiatives encourage and support start-up entrepreneurs in developing and implementing their projects. A digital learning environment is also being created for start-ups to reach entrepreneurs in rural areas. Students are furthermore taught essential entrepreneurial competencies through the «Campus Entrepreneurs» educational programme and learn how to make meaningful business decisions in the future.

The programme creates learning formats at each of the individual initiatives, to ensure the start-up advice and support is of a consistently high quality.

This programmatic approach supports the goal of providing sustainable impact in the start-up ecosystem of East Germany and setting up regional initiatives for the long term.
