Diaspora for Lebanon (LIFE)

Agri-business and the green economy are vital for the sustainability of the Lebanese economy. LIFE is a diaspora-based network organisation that pools resources and expertise of Lebanese abroad to serve Lebanon. The project connects and supports three groups of stakeholders that are important for these sectors: academia, business owners and the Lebanese diaspora. It aims to reinforce connections and synergies among them and strengthen students’ career readiness in the agriculture and green sectors. 35 students of agricultural and environmental disciplines receive financial aid, soft and technical skills training and employment guidance. Each student is matched with a mentor from the professional members of the LIFE network. In addition, ten micro and small enterprises (MSEs) active in agri-business and green economy receive grants to improve growth and innovation as well as technical training by academic partners and one-on-one business coaching.

This project is part of DROSOS FOUNDATION’s effort to strengthen the agribusiness sector and its youth employment opportunities in Lebanon. See also projects Golden Crops and Promoting the local food system.
