During a 3-year test phase, the project tests socio-pedagogical concepts on how care leavers can be supported in the decentralised, peripheral structures of the federal state of Thuringia in terms of their needs during transition. In the course of supporting 110 care leavers the partner is able to gather concrete experiences from which to develop realistic solutions. The partner drafts a plan describing the organisational and practical implementation approach and begins to hand over the project activities to a number of established actors. It trains and strengthens regional stakeholders and ensures there is long-term quality control. It launches regional care leaver initiatives, thus creating the basis for their self-advocacy in small regions. In addition, the partner builds up its own expertise on the topic and establishes a focal point in Thuringia that represents the concerns of careleavers responsibly and sustainably.
The project is part of the funding initiative «Brückensteine Careleaver».
