Together with other stakeholders from Leipzig, this partner is developing approaches that have been successfully piloted to help improve a care leaver’s transition from welfare and foster care to independent living. The «Collective Impact initiative» works on extending the opportunities created by and for care leavers in a participatory and systematic approach. The assistance and activities offered help more than 750 care leavers, and have enhanced people’s understanding of the challenges faced by this target group in Leipzig and the surrounding region. The services include: advice and mentoring for care leavers, help on how care leavers can best represent themselves and training opportunities for skilled workers.
The partner is also working on plans for a socio-cultural care leavers house in Leipzig and is making the necessary preparations to realise this concept.
The project is part of the «Brückensteine Careleaver» initiative. https://drosos.org/en/projekte/promoting-the-platform-brueckensteine-careleaver/
