Approach
We fund and co-create projects and initiatives with our partners – in line with our three focus areas and adapted to local context. By implementing these projects and initiatives, our partners support young people to shape their own futures. And we accompany our partners to grow sustainably, facilitating connections to strengthen their impact.
Five principles for systemic impact
We apply systems change practices across our partnerships, projects, and engagement with stakeholders. By doing so, we aim to improve young people’s prospects in a holistic way. These five principles guide our work across diverse contexts and situations:
1. Advance equitable opportunities for and with young people
We prioritise human-centred, accessible opportunities for young people, particularly those who are disadvantaged, to develop their full potential.
2. Support local leadership and youth agency
We cultivate trusting relationships with locally led organisations and initiatives that actively engage young people in the design and delivery of programming, strengthening their agency and leadership.
3. Build connections and capacity
We facilitate connections among local and global initiatives to strengthen our partners’ resilience and capacity to positively impact young people, communities, and ecosystems.
4. Cultivate learning and impact
We create dynamic spaces and processes to share successes and challenges, to help build more effective and impactful youth-focused initiatives.
5. Strive for sustainability
We consider and foster the long-term viability of initiatives to make a positive and lasting change in the lives of young people and their communities.
We are committed to continuously learn and adapt – to refine our approach and respond to emerging needs and contexts. We want to make sure that our support remains relevant, grounded, and impactful in a changing world.
