JugendMobil

Most professional youth development work in the Canton of Grisons takes place in the metropolitan areas. Remote valleys or smaller communities with few inhabitants and young people lack facilities that can be run by professionals and used by young people in their leisure time. JugendMobil is a mobile, fully-equipped youth centre that is parked for a defined periods of time in communities which have no dedicated youth facility. It offers young people the opportunity to meet up, play games and get involved in creative activities. Over several weeks the JugendMobil hosts workshops and demonstrates to the local community what a professionally-run youth centre could look like. By bringing together young people, residents and authorities, the JugendMobil aims to generate new ideas in 20 communities and encourage the development of a range of local youth facilities over the long term. An earlier project supported by Drosos Foundation between 2012 and 2015 has already significantly improved youth work in twelve communities in the Canton of Grisons.
