Vocational training and work placement for young people

The project helps to address youth unemployment by supporting a network of guidance and employment offices in both private and state-run vocational colleges across Lebanon. The offices find job placements for 1,000 students of electrical engineering, following coaching, internships and extra-curricular courses to improve their employability.
Through the creation of a social enterprise specialising in the manufacturing of electrical panels, 45 graduates and workers without qualifications gain paid practical work experience to improve their chances of finding ongoing employment in the future.
A previous project implemented by IECD was supported by Drosos Foundation between 2012 and 2015, in which a network of seven guidance and employment offices was set up and resulted in the placement of 380 students in paid employment.
