Sustainability Innovation Lab

Over the past two years, Bassita – a social enterprise for young Egyptians – has successfully validated its innovative approach to click-funding. Thereby, it has achieved a social impact and has mobilised financial resources for local civil society stakeholders. The young start up is now aiming to expand on its use of creativity and technology through the establishment of an innovation and sustainability lab. This lab will introduce new tools that are intended to help civil society achieve more sustainable social outcomes. Similar to the click-funding model pioneered by Bassita, the lab will initiate new methods for adapting to the unique characteristics and needs of a variety of civil society organisations. By the end of the project, the sustainability innovation lab is aiming to become self-sustaining through the implementation of a validated business model.
