Theatre as a tool of empowerment for young people and practitioners

The project provides drama therapy workshops for 150 children and young people from low income and marginalised regions. Participants take part in theatrical exercises and present their own plays as a means of improving their personal and social skills. In parallel, training in psychosocial artistic techniques is also provided to 60 practitioners. Through their work with the children and young people, cultural practitioners further develop their skills and ensure the expansion of the activities and their continuation after the workshop.
Furthermore, the Zoukak theatre group will host practitioners and young artists, provide mentoring and help them produce their plays. Zoukak will also enhance the cultural education of young people by facilitating performances of their own productions across Lebanon.
