Kulturkosmonauten – Promoting creative activities for young people

Working together in ten-day workshops, groups of around 20 young people aged between 15 and 25 engage in a topic, text or play on an artistic basis. Support for each workshop is provided by two artists, primarily from the world of theatre although other artistic fields are also represented.
The workshops are for a concentrated period or spread over a maximum of six weeks. During this time the young people work intensively with the artists to develop a presentation that they will perform in public at the end. The focus of the project is on the development of the young people’s individual personality through artistic work, the aim being to strengthen their personal and social skills. The workshops are held in collaboration with partner institutions such as schools, social welfare institutions training enterprises.
During the 1½-year pilot project, the feasibility of the project will be examined in five workshops, in cooperation with various partner institutions. At the same time, the pilot phase will be used to develop a non-profit organisation, which can manage “Kulturkosmonauten” in the future.
