Kulturhanse

In Erfurt, the successful first project pursued together with the association Plattform e.V. is being scaled up. The new Kulturhanse, a sustainable funding platform for young cultural operators, is supporting the development of additional business incubators in otherwise structurally weak areas. Once they are established, these additional centres will offer space, business coaching and new networks to help young people successfully start their own socio-cultural businesses. Activities for promoting entrepreneurship are increasingly taking place in the urban environment. In small and medium-sized cities, however, there is a lack of locations that foster entrepreneurship as a perspective for work and life. Against this backdrop, a year-long support programme from Plattform e.V. aims to pass on the knowledge accumulated at Werft34 to other potential founders of comparable centres. In addition, three incubators will receive ongoing support during their development phase.
In the future, participants will be able to jointly represent their interests at the Kulturhanse – this new network of business incubators. Long-term success will be ensured through knowledge sharing and mutual support. The overarching aim is to establish robust local hubs and generate new sources of assistance.
