Given the combination of a struggling economy, the growing demand for local art and the performing arts sector’s capacity to charge for «experiences», it seems evident that more should be done to uncover ways of generating income in this field. More specifically, greater efforts need to be made to find a way of ensuring sustainable means of finance within the performing arts sector.
«From Dependence to Resilience» explores the potential for a long-term plan to support performing arts organisations and initiatives to generate revenue streams. These revenue streams require a great deal of patience and the parties involved need to learn the necessary skills and methods for organising fundraising campaigns, training and coaching, as well as soliciting aid and championing this work. These efforts will be facilitated through the partnering of several organisations under the leadership of the Palestinian Performing Arts Network.
