Fablab on Wheels is a technology-equipped lab housed in a bus, bringing entrepreneurship to rural Egypt. People with disabilities learn on the mobile lab how to create and modify physical objects based on computer-generated designs and develop assistive devices that they need in their daily lives. Educating and engaging the participants in the design and production of their own assistive devices helps them to better deal with their challenges, and opens up entrepreneurial or job opportunities.
Through technology and technical expertise Giza Systems Education Foundation, a not for profit foundation, improves the quality of lives of marginalised sections of society as well as people with disabilities, estimated at 14 million, or around 10% of the population in Egypt.
