El Nidaa presents a family-friendly model for promoting the employment for women in Upper Egypt. The project borrows the ‘One Village One Product’ approach and teaches women in rural areas how to build artisanal wooden furniture.
The partner sets up a workshop for handmade furniture and operates it as a social enterprise to provide ongoing employment opportunities for 100 young women in a safe and supportive environment.
El Nidaa promotes local and export sales through exhibitions, various retail outlets and an online catalogue and webshop.
