Cultural heritage creates jobs

Archaeological excavations and conservation projects have continually created employment opportunities in Jordan. However, the work is often carried out by foreign staff.
The project aims to change these circumstances by reorganising the archaeological and historical monument conservation sector in a sustainable way. In cooperation with public authorities and universities, the partner is developing five relevant training and occupational profiles for the sector and offering corresponding training modules. In addition, it is creating a specific database and online job platform for the sector to provide placements for qualified personnel. Nine teachers and 100 technical staff will receive training over the duration of the project and 75 university students will have completed practical internships as part of their studies.
